Bulldog Adventures

The Bulldog Adventures program provides opportunities for students to get out and explore Kansas. Each outing is offered at no additional expense to students.

Spending time in the outdoors reduces stress, boosts confidence, and improves fitness – all while making friends and having fun!

Activities include:
  • Hiking
  • Fishing (including an annual fishing derby)
  • Camping
  • Disc golf outings
  • Climbing
  • Ice skating
  • Zip lining
  • Outdoor survival skills
  • Axe throwing
  • Kayaking
  • Outdoor cooking
  • Knot tying
  • Paintball
  • Trips to state tourist attractions
  • Sandhill Crane migration at Quivira National Wildlife Refuge
  • Trips to state and federal wildlife areas
  • Service and conservation projects

Plan an outing. Use our gear! We know all the spots to check out and what you'll need to enjoy them. Current McPherson College students can reserve gear for hiking, fishing, camping, disc golf, and more at no cost.

Program Vision

To engage those with passion for McPherson College in adventures that enhance the student experience, provide service opportunities, and develop leadership skills while embracing the Kansas outdoors.

Adventure initiatives that students can participate in include:

  • Adventure Club
    Join the club and have your voice heard by helping to decide where to go and what adventures to do. Also, consider running for an officer position on the club’s student-elected executive board and gain resume-building leadership experience.
  • Club Collaborations
    Partner with other student clubs/organizations across campus using each group’s focus area to create shared experiences through outdoor adventures.
  • Build Your Own Adventure
    Check out outdoor adventure gear at no cost and obtain planning information to have your own adventure with friends at your convenience.
  • P.E.A.K. Leadership Expedition
    This two-semester, non-traditional outdoor adventure-based leadership certificate program develops career readiness competencies that employers seek in graduates through the power of the great outdoors.
  • Intramural Competitions
    Join a team and compete for bragging rights (& gift cards) while demonstrating respect and practicing positive sportsmanship.
  • Lawn Game Tournaments
    Find a teammate and enjoy some fresh air by joining our weekly, month-long tournaments using a variety of lawn games on campus while fostering fun and fellowship with other students.
  • Team-builders with athletics
    Join the Adventure Club in partnering with individual athletic teams to facilitate team building using outdoor activities.
